Our EQA’s will be responsible for planning and carrying out Centre and qualification approval, and monitoring engagements with SIAS approved Centres in line with SIAS awarding organisation and regulatory requirements. As an EQA you will need to carry out effective risk assessment of Centres allocated and monitor centre performance through effective sampling, and observation of assessment at SIAS approved Centres.
As a SIAS EQA you will provide excellent support to Centres and will need to maintain effective working relationships with our centres and the SIAS operations and quality teams. This role ensures that qualifications within the sustainability and net-zero suite meet required regulatory and industry standards, while supporting centres to maintain compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct centre and qualification approval activities in line with SIAS and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of allocated centres through:
- Risk assessment
- Sampling of assessment decisions
- Observation of assessment practices
- Ensure all assessment and quality assurance practices meet required standards and regulatory expectations
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to centres to maintain compliance and improve performance
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with centres and internal SIAS teams
- Produce clear, accurate, and timely reports, including actions for improvement
- Contribute to maintaining the quality and integrity of SIAS qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Occupational competence and industry experience in sustainability and net-zero, particularly:
- Carbon management and reduction
- Environmental sustainability practices
- Net-zero strategies and implementation
- Strong understanding of sustainability standards, environmental regulations, and net-zero frameworks
- Ability to plan work effectively and manage time independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build effective professional relationships
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Competence in producing clear and accurate written reports
- Willingness to work within a regulated environment
Qualifications
- Assessor qualification (e.g. D32/D33, A1/A2)
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification
Desirable
- External Quality Assurance qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in EQA, D35/V2)
- If not held, willingness to work towards the qualification with SIAS support
