The SIAS Level 2 Award in Preparing for Work with Engineering Industry Awareness is designed to provide learners with the essential knowledge and behaviours required to prepare for entry into the engineering sector. It supports the development of core employability skills alongside an introduction to the structure, roles and working environments within the engineering industry. Learners will gain awareness of key health, safety, quality and environmental considerations, enabling them to understand the expectations of working in engineering settings. The qualification is designed to support progression into further learning, apprenticeships or entry-level employment within the engineering industry. 

This qualification is intended for individuals aged 16+ who are interested in starting a career in the engineering sector. It is suitable for learners with little or no prior knowledge of the industry, including those in further education, pre-employment programmes, or individuals seeking to develop sector awareness and employability skills.
